Hi, I'm Eddie Barber. I'm 24 years old. I was born in my mother's
homeland — Houston, Texas. My Dad is from Kentucky. We moved to
central Kentucky when I was a few months old. I've lived here ever since. I live
with my family on a farm where we raise cattle and tobacco. Farming goes back a
long way in my family, approximately 150 years, so you can see why my
parents were surprised when I became interested in singing.
For as long as I can remember, my dream has been to write and sing country
music. Being a farmer, my dad thought that was pretty far out, but I never
became too discouraged. I used to wait until my parents went to bed so I
could practice playing my guitar and singing.
My dad took me to Nashville on vacation in July 2003. I believe he was
intending for me to see for myself that getting into country music wouldn't
be easy. We talked to a few interesting people and the next thing I knew, I
was playing and singing at "Tootsies", "Legends", and “The Blue Bird Cafe."
After hearing the crowds cheer me on, my dad told me that he hadn't realized how much talent I had. Dad and Mom are always trying to do what's best
for us kids, so they're standing behind me 100% to help me pursue my career.
For four years now, I have been on a mission to bring my music to as many people as possible. I have gained a lot of experience and a lot of new friends along the way. I've put together a really good band called "KentuckyBred". We have played throughout
the state of Kentucky at festivals, county fairs as well as bars and honkytonks. Some of the places we have been and the great people we have met are shown in the "Picture Album" section of this site.
You'll see pictures of me with Darrell Worley, Hot Apple Pie, Craig Morgan.
Jeff Bates and John Michael Montgomery. You'll also see pictures of current
and former band members. Maybe, even more importantly, you'll see pictures
of people that just like the music we make. To me, that's what
country's about. That's what I write and sing about—regular
people. Well, we plan to keep going places and making new friends so we'll be
updating the photo pages often.
I would really like to thank everyone for the wonderful support that I have
received up to this point and thank God for the talent that he has given me.
I hope you enjoy this site. Please come back and visit again.
